As we stand at the threshold of a new chapter, the team at Vitreoretinal Institute in Baton Rouge is thrilled to reflect on a remarkable two years and share our ambitious plans for the future. 2024 and 2025 have been periods of significant growth, innovation, and unwavering dedication to providing the highest standard of vitreoretinal care to our community.

2024-2025: A Snapshot of Progress

The past two years have been defined by our commitment to enhancing patient outcomes through advanced technology and expanded services. We've continued to lead the way in diagnosing and treating complex retinal conditions, from macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy to retinal detachments and vitreous hemorrhages. One of the key highlights of this period has been our focus on adopting cutting-edge diagnostic tools and treatment modalities. We've seen an increased utilization of high-resolution, non-invasive imaging, allowing for earlier detection and more precise management of various eye diseases. Visual outcomes in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration have improved dramatically with the addition of “second generation” intravitreal injections. These treatments are highly effective for prolonged periods of time. This results in enhanced visual outcomes with much less of a treatment burden.

Growing Our Family: Welcoming New Expertise

A significant part of our success and our vision for the future lies in the expansion of our dedicated medical team. In the summer of 2024, we welcomed Dr. Daniel Salisbury to our family. He has been an amazing addition to the VRI team. Dr. Salisbury provides the highlest level of dedicated retinal care. Additionally, we are incredibly proud to announce the addition of Dr. Jamie Hatcher, a highly skilled vitreoretinal specialist to the Vitreoretinal Institute starting September, 2025. These esteemed doctors bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and fresh perspectives to our practice. Their specialized expertise further broadens our capacity to serve the growing needs of our community, ensuring that more patients have access to world-class retinal care in Baton Rouge, Alexandria, and Gonzales. Each new physician shares our commitment to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and a passion for preserving and restoring vision. We are confident that their contributions will significantly enhance our ability to deliver personalized and effective treatments.
