Meet Dr. Adam Janot M.D., a dedicated ophthalmologist with a passion for providing exceptional eye care to the community he calls home. Born and raised in the city of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Dr. Janot's journey in medicine began with a strong academic foundation at Louisiana State University, where he graduated with honors in 2008.
His Story
Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Dr. Janot distinguished himself as a top student, graduating at the pinnacle of his class from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2012, earning his medical degree. His thirst for knowledge and commitment to his field led him to pursue residency training in ophthalmology at the esteemed Medical College of Virginia, where he completed his training in 2016.
During his residency, Dr. Janot's exceptional talent and dedication were recognized with awards for research excellence. He also had the privilege of presenting his findings at national meetings, solidifying his reputation as a rising star in the field. In his senior year, he was honored to serve as Chief Resident, further demonstrating his leadership and expertise.

Seeking further specialization, Dr. Janot completed a comprehensive two-year fellowship in uveitis, medical retina, and surgical retina care at the prestigious Stanley Truhlsen Eye Institute, University of Nebraska Medical Center. During his fellowship, he contributed significantly to the field through publications and presentations at regional and national meetings, establishing himself as a thought leader in his areas of expertise.
In 2018, Dr. Janot joined VRI (Vitreoretinal Institute), where he currently serves as the medical director, leading a team of dedicated professionals in delivering cutting-edge eye care to their patients.
As a board-certified ophthalmologist and a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Janot holds himself to the highest standards of clinical excellence. He is a fellow of prestigious organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Janot's commitment to his profession is further evidenced by his membership in the American Medical Association, Louisiana State Medical Society, and Louisiana Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana, Dr. Janot serves on the medical staff of prominent institutions including Baton Rouge General Hospital, Rapides Regional Medical Center, and Woman’s Hospital. He performs surgeries at BRASS Surgery Center in Baton Rouge, where he also serves on the Medical Executive Committee, contributing his expertise to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Janot finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing moments spent with his beloved wife, Hillary, and their two daughters, Libby and Caroline. As active members of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, the Janot family values faith and community. In his leisure time, Dr. Janot enjoys indulging his passions for music, movies, sports, and above all, creating lasting memories with family and friends.
